Nothing says summertime like a hand-picked, juicy tomato right from the backyard garden or container. Our own farm greenhouses grow 34 varieties of these fresh, ripe beauties, from the diminutive Sweet Million Tomato to The Guinness Book of World Record's biggest ever Delicious variety (7 lb 12 oz).

We also grow an additional 38 varieties for our annual Tomato Tornado weekend. Heirloom (H) varieties are extremely popular, and we carry 40 including the classic, Radiator Ray's Mortgage Lifter. Our healthy transplants are sold hardened off and ready for your garden.

All of our peppers are grown from seed in our own greenhouses in Hydes, MD and shipped daily to our store.

Our herb grower provides us with over 100 varieties of herbs during the spring season, in both small starter plants and larger landscape-sized specimens. We continue to stock herb favorites all year.

With over 40 different peppers, there is definitely one sweet or hot enough for the most "seasoned" pepper connoisseur. But take caution-- we grow some of the hottest in the world, including the latest Guinness World Record holder, our very own Trinidad Scorpion, which was discovered on the island of Trinidad by one of our founders. The Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) is the measurement used to specify the heat of a pepper. An average Jalapeno pepper measures around 5000 SHU. The Trinidad Scorpion pepper measures in at an unbelievable 1,463,700 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).
